THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE:

THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:

1.  The applicant requests that item 12a (Date Entered AD (active duty) this Period) of his DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) be corrected to show he entered active duty on 18 July 2003.

2.  The applicant states that item 12a contains the date he separated, not the date he entered active duty.

3.  The applicant provides a copy of his DD Form 214.

CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:

1.  The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army and entered active duty on 18 July 2003.  He was honorably released from active duty on 24 December 2006 upon the completion of his required active service.

2.  Both item 12a and item 12b (Separation Date this Period) of the applicant’s DD Form 214 contain the entries 24 December 2006.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:

Item 12a of the applicant’s DD Form 214 contains an administrative error.  He enlisted in the Regular Army and entered active duty on 18 July 2003, not on    24 December 2006.
