THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE:

THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:

1.  The applicant requests correction of his DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to show he entered active duty on 25 February 2010 vice 25 March 2010.

2.  The applicant states the date he entered active duty is wrong on his DD Form 214.

3.  The applicant provides his DD Form 214.

CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:

1.  Having had prior Reserve service, the applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 25 February 2010.  His DD Form 4 (Enlistment/Reenlistment Document - Armed Forces of the United States) shows he enlisted on that date at the Beckley Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS), Glen Jean, WV.

2.  His records contain a DD Form 93 (Record of Emergency Data), dated 25 February 2010, that he completed at the Beckley MEPS on that date.

3.  On 1 March 2010, he was assigned to the 46th Adjutant General (AG) Reception Station, Fort Knox, KY. 


4.  Orders 063-0351, dated 4 March 2010, issued by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Fort Knox, assigned him to the U.S. Army Armor Center, Fort Knox, with a reporting date of 4 March 2010.

5.  He was honorably released from active duty on 10 March 2013 and he was transferred to the U.S Army Reserve.  He completed 3 years, 1 month, and 16 days of creditable active service during this period of service.

6.  Item 12a (Date Entered Active Duty this Period) of the DD Form 214 he was issued for this period of service contains the entry "2010--03--25."  Item 12c (Net Active Service this Period) of this form contains the entry "0003--00--16."

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:

The evidence of record confirms the applicant entered active duty on 25 February 2010.  It appears an error occurred during the preparation of his DD Form 214 when the month he entered active duty was listed as March vice February.  Therefore, he is entitled to correction of his DD Form 214 for the period ending 10 March 2013 to show the correct date he entered active duty and the net active service he completed during this period of service.

BOARD DETERMINATION/RECOMMENDATION:

The Board determined that the evidence presented was sufficient to warrant a recommendation for relief.  As a result, the Board recommends that all Department of the Army records of the individual concerned be corrected by





deleting the entries in items 12a and 12c of his DD Form 214 for the period ending 10 March 2013 and replacing them with the entries "2010--02--25" and "0003--01--16" respectively.
