BOARD DATE: 1 August 2017 DOCKET NUMBER: AR20170009408 THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE: 1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any). 2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any). THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant requests removal of the following orders from her Official Military Personnel File (OMPF): a. U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Orders SW-010-001, dated 10 January 2012; b. U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Orders SW-010-001 (A1), dated 11 February 2012; and c. U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Orders SW-010-001 (A2), dated 14 September 2012. 2. The applicant states: a. She currently has three orders in her records that need to be removed because they were added in error. When she was in Germany, her unit was deploying to Afghanistan, but she didn’t deploy with them, she was part of the rear detachment. The orders were automatically issued and uploaded in her records. She did know this had happened and she doesn’t want to take credit for something she didn’t do. b. This deployment is not reflected on her Enlisted Record Brief (ERB) and never has been. She participated in one deployment to Iraq. c. She wants her record corrected before her E-7 board. 3. The applicant provides a copy of her ERB. CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 12 May 2008 and has remained on active duty through continuous reenlistments. 2. Section I (Assignment Information/Overseas/Deployment Combat Duty) of her ERB shows: * she deployed to Iraq from 4 November 2009 through 1 November 2010 * she was assigned to Germany from 27 May 2011 through 29 April 2013 3. A review of the service folder of her OMPF in the interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System revealed copies of the following orders: a. U.S. Army Installation Management Command Orders SW-010-001, dated 10 January 2012, showing she deployed in a temporary change of station status in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan on or about 23 January 2012 for a period not to exceed 365 days; b. U.S. Army Installation Management Command Orders SW-010-001 (A1), dated 11 February 2012; amending Orders SW-010-001, dated 10 January 2012, pertaining to Government quarters and dining facilities; and c. U.S. Army Installation Management Command Orders SW-010-001 (A2), dated 14 September 2012, amending Orders SW-010-001, dated 11 February 2012 (should read 10 January 2012), by adding an accounting code/ classification. 4. She was promoted to staff sergeant effective 4 April 2014. 5. There is no evidence in the available records showing she deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. REFERENCES: Army Regulation 600-8-104 (Army Military Human Resource Records Management) prescribes Army policy for the creation, utilization, administration, maintenance, and disposition of the Army Military Human Resource Record. Paragraph 3-6 provides that once a document is properly filed in the OMPF, the document will not be removed from the record unless directed by the Army Board for Correction of Military Records or other authorized agency. DISCUSSION: 1. The applicant's ERB shows she was assigned to Germany in 2012 and she did not deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 2. Her OMPF contains orders with two amendments indicating she deployed to Afghanistan in January 2012. 3. She requested removal of the orders and amendments indicating she deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. 4. The evidence of record indicates the orders with two amendments indicating she deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 were issued erroneously. //NOTHING FOLLOWS// ABCMR Record of Proceedings AR20150000953 Enclosure 1 ARMY BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS ABCMR Record of Proceedings (cont) AR20170009408 2 ARMY BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Enclosure 1 ABCMR Record of Proceedings (cont) AR20170009408 3 ARMY BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Enclosure 2
