RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS AIR FORCE BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS IN THE MATTER OF: DOCKET NUMBER: BC-2014-04912 COUNSEL: NONE HEARING DESIRED: NO APPLICANT REQUESTS THAT: His Medical Continuation Orders (MEDCON) be extended from 26 September 2014 to 27 September 2014. APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT: Per ARPC, his MEDCON orders should have terminated on 27 September 2014 to coincide with his retirement date. Due to this discrepancy, his final DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, will not reflect his disability retirement. The applicant’s complete submission, with attachments, is at Exhibit A. STATEMENT OF FACTS: According to his Military Personnel Appropriation (MPA) orders amendment dated 29 May 2014, the applicant was extended on active duty through 26 September 2014. Per Special Order, ACD-03475, dated 10 September 2014. The applicant was retired effective 28 September 2014 with a 70 percent disability rating. AIR FORCE EVALUATION: AFPC/DPFA recommends approval. The Air Reserve Component Case Management Division previously approved an extension of the applicant’s MEDCON orders with an end date of 27 September 2014. This extension coordination and approval took place on 16 September 2014 and is reflected in the Command Man-Day Allocation System (CMAS). A CMAS allocation message was generated on 16 September 2014 and the applicant’s unit should have used the message to extend the applicant’s order to reflect an end date of 27 September 2014. A complete copy of the AFPC/DPFA evaluation, with attachments, is at Exhibit B. APPLICANT'S REVIEW OF AIR FORCE EVALUATION: A copy of the Air Force evaluation was forwarded to the applicant on 25 March 2015 for review and comment within 30 days (Exhibit C). As of this date, no response has been received by this office. THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT: 1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by existing law or regulations. 2. The application was timely filed. 3. Sufficient relevant evidence has been presented to demonstrate the existence of an error or injustice. Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the opinion and recommendation of the Air Force office of primary responsibility and adopt its rationale as the basis for our conclusion the applicant has been the victim of an error or injustice. Therefore, we recommend the applicant's records be corrected as indicated below.
