The applicant’s complete submission, with attachments, is at Exhibit A. STATEMENT OF FACTS: According to the applicant’s DD Form 4, on 22 March 1972, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserve for a period of six years. According to DD Form 220, Active Duty Report, dated 28 March 1972, the applicant’s effective date of entry on Active Duty is 26 March 1972. According to AF Form 7, Airman Military Record, on 19 November 1972, the applicant was released from Active Duty for training. According to the applicant’s DD Form 214, he entered active service for the period 25 March 1972 through 19 November 1972, and was credited with eight months and three days of active service. According to Reserve Orders CC-5812 dated 28 August 1975, the applicant was honorably discharged from the Air Force Reserve effective 28 August 1975, and issued a DD Form 256AF. A DD Form 215, Correction to DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, dated 30 June 2015, corrected the applicant’s date of entry from 25 March 1972 to 26 March 1972. In addition, his active service changed from 8 months and 3 days to 7 months and 29 days. Additional changes were made to his U.S. Citizenship, his Place of Birth and his Date of Induction. AIR FORCE EVALUATION: ARPC/DPTS recommends denial of the applicant’s request to change the effective date of release from active duty on his DD Form 214 indicating there is no evidence of an error or an injustice. To approve the applicant’s request would be contrary to the Department of Defense and Air Force Instructions. A DD Form 214 is issued for a period of active duty, not Reserve time. According to the applicant’s records, he was released from active duty for training on 19 Nov 1972, which is what is stated on the applicant’s DD Form 214. Additionally, the applicant’s date of birth was corrected on a previous DD Form 215. The applicant’s U.S. Citizen status, place of birth, date of entry and total statement of service were corrected. A complete copy of the ARPC/DPTS evaluation, with attachments, is at Exhibit C. As of this date, no response has been received by this office. THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT: 1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by existing law or regulations. 2. The application was timely filed. 3. Insufficient relevant evidence has been presented to demonstrate the existence of an error or injustice to warrant changing his records as requested. We took notice of the applicant’s complete submission in judging the merits of the case; however, we agree with the opinion and recommendation of the Air Force office of primary responsibility and adopt the rationale expressed as the basis for our conclusion the applicant has not been the victim of an error of injustice. Therefore, other than the administrative corrections made to his DD Form 215, we find no basis to grant the additional relief sought in this application. THE BOARD DETERMINES THAT: The applicant be notified the evidence presented did not demonstrate the existence of material error or injustice; the application was denied without a personal appearance; and the application will only be reconsidered upon the submission of newly discovered relevant evidence not considered with this application.
