On 6 June 1984, the applicant enlisted in the Regular Army for 3 years. The applicant’s enlistment contract and other legal documents shows his SSN as …….. He completed the required training and was awarded military occupational specialty 63G10 (Fuel and Electrical Systems Repairer). On 21 January 1987, the applicant was honorably discharged after serving 2 years, 7 months and 16 days of creditable active service. On 22 January 1987, the applicant reenlisted for 3 years. The applicant’s reenlistment contract, his certificates of awards, his service schools and other legal documents located in his file shows his SSN as ……. On 21 January 1990, the applicant was honorably discharged, under the provisions of Army Regulation 635-200, paragraph 4 (Expiration term of service). He had completed 5 years, 7 months and 16 days of creditable active service and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon and the Army Service Ribbon. DISCUSSION: Considering all the evidence, allegations, and information presented by the applicant, together with the evidence of record, applicable law and regulations, and advisory opinion(s), it is concluded: 1. In order to justify correction of a military record the applicant must show to the satisfaction of the Board, or it must otherwise satisfactorily appear, that the record is in error or unjust. The applicant has failed to submit evidence that would satisfy the aforementioned requirement. 2. There is no evidence in the applicant’s record which indicates that his SSN is in error. The applicant’s enlistment contract, his DD Form 214 and other legal papers indicates that the SSN on his DD Form 214 is correct. 3. The applicant has submitted neither probative evidence nor a convincing argument in support of the request. 4. Therefore, in view of the foregoing, there is no basis for granting the applicant’s request. DETERMINATION: The applicant has failed to submit sufficient relevant evidence to demonstrate the existence of probable error or injustice.
