Army Regulation 600-8-104 (Military Personnel Information Management/ Records), chapter 4, section III, describes the steps to update a Soldier's Officer Record Brief. Soldiers may submit a memorandum requesting officer records brief changes to the Commander, Army Human Resources Command, ATTN: AHRC-OPZ-IS, Alexandria, Virginia 22332-0400. 14. Army Regulation 635-5 (Separation Documents) prescribes the separation documents that must be prepared for Soldiers on retirement, discharge, release from active duty service, or control of the Active Army. It establishes standardized policy for preparing and distributing the DD Form 214. Paragraph 2-1 of this regulation states that the DD Form 214 is a summary of a Soldier's most recent period of continuous active duty. It provides a brief, clear-cut record of active duty service at the time of release from active duty, retirement, or discharge DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: 1. The applicant contends that his records should be corrected to show that he does not have a Bachelor Degree. 2. The Officer Record Brief is in informal compilation of an officer's military service. The ORB is a record that is maintained while an officer is in an active status and is not considered an official document and therefore, is not under the jurisdiction of the Army Board for Correction of Military Records. 3. The applicant's DD Form 214 does not list the applicant's civilian education. Therefore, there is no corrective action required. Therefore, the Board determined that the overall merits of this case are insufficient as a basis for correction of the records of the individual concerned.
