IN THE CASE OF: BOARD DATE: 1 April 2010 DOCKET NUMBER: AR20100000312 THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE: 1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any). 2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any). THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant requests removal of a memorandum, dated 20 December 2007, subject: Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT) Results, from her official military personnel file (OMPF). 2. The applicant states this memorandum is not authorized for filing in the OMPF. 3. The applicant provides a copy of the memorandum and a copy of her Enlisted Record Brief, dated 24 March 2010, in support of her request. CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant is a Regular Army staff sergeant who enlisted in the Regular Army on 17 April 2002 and holds military occupational specialty 31B (Military Police). She continues to serve through multiple reenlistments and is currently assigned to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. 2. Her OMPF contains a copy of a memorandum, dated 20 December 2007, issued by the Education Center, Fort Polk, LA, showing she took the AFCT on 6 December 2007 and received her scores. 3. Chapter 2 of Army Regulation 600-8-104 (Military Personnel Information Management/Records) governs the composition of the OMPF and states, in pertinent part, that the performance section is used for filing performance, commendatory, and disciplinary data. Once placed in the OMPF, the document becomes a permanent part of that file. The document will not be removed from or moved to another part of the OMPF unless directed by certain agencies, to include this Board. Only those documents listed in Tables 2-1 (Composition of the OMPF) and 2-2 (Obsolete or No Longer Used Documents) are authorized for filing in the OMPF. AFCT Results are not listed in either of those Tables. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: The evidence of record shows her OMPF contains a memorandum of her AFCT scores that is not required to be filed on her OMPF. Therefore, she is entitled to correction of her records to remove this document.
