As a result, the Board recommends that all Department of the Army records of the individual concerned be corrected by removing the U.S. Army Recruiting and Retention School, Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Senior Leader Course Commandant List certificate, dated 18 November 2016, from his OMPF. _____________x____________ CHAIRPERSON I certify that herein is recorded the true and complete record of the proceedings of the Army Board for Correction of Military Records in this case. BOARD DATE: 3 August 2017 DOCKET NUMBER: AR20170005718 THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE: 1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any). 2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any). THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant requests, in effect, removal of an erroneously filed U.S. Army Recruiting and Retention School, Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Senior Leader Course Commandant List certificate, dated 18 November 2016 (hereafter referred to as the Senior Leader Course certificate) from his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). 2. He states the certificate belongs to another Soldier in his unit with the same last name. 3. He provides a Senior Leader Course certificate issued to Sergeant First Class B____ D. J____ CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant is a sergeant first class serving on active duty in the Regular Army. 2. The performance section of his OMPF contains a Senior Leader Course certificate, dated 18 November 2016, which shows a Soldier with the same last name as the applicant had achieved Commandant List status upon completion of the Senior Leader Course on 18 November 2016. 3. This certificate lists the applicant’s social security number in the top right hand corner; however, the first name on the certificate is not the applicant’s first name. REFERENCES: Army Regulation 600-8-104 (Army Military Human Resource Records Management) prescribes Army policy for the creation, utilization, administration, maintenance, and disposition of the OMPF. Paragraph 3-6 provides that once a document is properly filed in the OMPF, the document will not be removed from the record unless directed by the ABCMR or other authorized agency. DISCUSSION: The applicant's OMPF contains a Senior Leader Course certificate belonging to another Soldier. The evidence supports removal of this certificate. //NOTHING FOLLOWS// ABCMR Record of Proceedings AR20150000953 Enclosure 1 ARMY BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS ABCMR Record of Proceedings (cont) AR20170005718 2 ARMY BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Enclosure 1 ABCMR Record of Proceedings (cont) AR20170005718 2 ARMY BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Enclosure 2
