The applicant states he did not receive the certificate of completion 2. Review of the applicant's service records shows: a. He enlisted in the Regular Army on 10 November 2010. He enlisted for training in MOS 92A. b. He completed the 9-week Automated Logistical Specialist Course at Fort Lee, VA, from 7 February to 13 April 2011 and he was awarded MOS 92A. c. He extended his enlistment by 11 months on 10 November 2010 to meet requirements for his overseas assignment. He served in Korea. d. He attended and completed 18 weeks of training as a CI Special Agent, MOS 35L (Counterintelligence Agent) from 1 April 2013 to 23 July 2013. e. He was arraigned on 26 November 2014 before a special court-martial convened at 8th U.S. Army Korea. The proceedings were terminated when he requested discharge in lieu of trial by court-martial and his request for voluntary separation was approved on 31 December 2014. f. He was discharged from active duty on 10 January 2015. His DD Form 214 shows in: * Block 11 (Primary Specialty), 35L Counterintelligence Agent, 2 years and 11 months * Block 14 (Military Education), Assist T4T Course, 1 wee, 2002; Human Intelligence Collector, 18 weeks, 2012; and Warrior Leader Course, 4 weeks, 2013 3. By regulation, the DD Form 214 is a summary of the Soldier's most recent period of continuous active duty. It provides a brief, clear-cut record of all current active, prior active, and prior inactive duty service at the time of release from active duty, retirement, or discharge. The information entered thereon reflects the conditions as they existed at the time of separation. It stated: a. Block 11, enter the titles of all MOS awarded and held for at least 1 year during the current period of service and include for each MOS the number of years and months held. For time determinations, 16 or more days counts as a month. He held MOS 92A from 13 April 2001 to 10 January 2015: 3 years and 9 months. b. Block 14, list all formal, in-service (full time attendance) training courses successfully completed during the period of service covered by the DD Form 214 of at least 1 week or 40 hours duration. Include course title, length in weeks, and year completed. He completed the 9-week Automated Logistical Specialist Course in 2011. BOARD DISCUSSION: After reviewing the application and all supporting documents, the Board determined relief was warranted. Based upon the graduation certificate provided by the applicant showing he successful graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Course, dated 13 April 2011, the Board concluded that the training should be added to the applicant’s DD Form 214. As a result, the Board recommends that all Department of Army records of the individual concerned be corrected by amending the applicant’s DD Form 214 by adding to Item 14 “AUTOMATED LOGISTICAL SPC CRS, 9 WEEKS, 2011”. REFERENCES: Army Regulation 635-8 (Separation processing and Documents) prescribes the transition processing function of the military personnel system. It provides principles of support, standards of service, policies, tasks, rules, and steps governing required actions in the field to support processing personnel for separation and preparation of separation documents. Chapter 5 of this regulation states the DD Form 214 is a summary of the Soldier’s most recent period of continuous active duty. It provides a brief, clear-cut record of all current active, prior active, and prior inactive duty service at the time of release from active duty, retirement, or discharge. a. Item 11, enter the titles of all military occupational specialties (MOS) or areas of concentration (AOCs) awarded and held for at least 1 year during the current period of service and include for each MOS/AOC the number of years and months held. For time determinations, 16 or more days counts as a month. b. Item 14, list all formal, in-service (full time attendance) training courses successfully completed during the period of service covered by the DD Form 214 of at least 1 week or 40 hours duration. Include course title, length in weeks, and year completed. This information is to assist the Soldier in job placement and counseling; therefore, do not list training courses for combat skills.
