Reference the attached Army Board for Correction of Military Records Record of Proceedings in which the Board recommended granting the applicant’s request. I have reviewed the evidence presented, findings, conclusions, and Board member recommendations. Based upon the available evidence showing a prior election for former spouse was made and SBP guidance stating prior elections cannot be revoked without proof of death or remarriage of the former spouse, I override the board’s recommendation. The application submitted by the individual concerned is denied.
