EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The applicant was discharged for Entry Level Separation while at initial accession training
Based upon the applicant's account, the discharge was due to the inability to handle stress in recruit training 
while being a newlywed. Additionally, the applicant's ex-spouse had also entered boot camp as a recruit just 2 
weeks prior. Therefore, the applicant believes that made matters worse as he could see the spouse at times in 
training, but he could not speak with the spouse freely. The applicant chalks the experience up to immaturity 
and uncontrollable distractions that are no longer present in his life. The applicant has provided no other basis 
to upgrade his RE code.
An RE3 reentry code is neither a permanent bar from, nor affirmative recommendation for reenlistment, rather 
it represents that the applicant is not recommended for reenlistment due to a disqualifying factor. At the time of 
discharge, the applicant had demonstrated a disqualifying condition and therefore the RE3L is appropriate. Any 
subsequent changes that would potentially render the applicant eligible for reenlistment are addressed based 
upon the policies and needs of the gaining Service with a waiver of the RE3 code.
The Board recommends no relief.
