The applicant was initially diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder with mixed emotional features in late 2012 by a civilian healthcare provider. In early 2013,the applicant was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder Recurrent by the clinic physician in which a medical board was initiated. During this period, the applicant met with counsel and elected to waive the medical board in order to be discharged from the service. The applicant willingly signed a CG-3307 which acknowledged waiving a formal Board for consideration of severance pay. The Board has reviewed the applicant's claim that the separation code JND is associated with "concealment of arrest record". The description of the JND code has no relation to those actions. Additionally, the Separation for Miscellaneous/General Reasons (narrative reason) does not attach a categorical stigma . The Board finds no issues with propriety or equity in this case. Additionally, a RE3 reentry code is not an affirmative recommendation for reenlistment, rather it represents that the applicant is not recommended for reenlistment due to a disqualifying factor. The RE3 code may be waived based upon the policies and needs of the gaining Service. Propriety: Discharge was proper. Equity: Discharge was equitable. Final Adjudication By Assistant Commandant for Human Resources: Concur with Board. No relief.
