EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Applicant was discharged on April 2, 2015, with a General Discharge, Under Honorable Conditions 
character of service due to Separation for Miscellaneous/General Reasons.

The applicant had two alcohol incidents in 2014. This prompted the command to process the applicant's 
discharge for unsuitability. The Board finds no issues with propriety or equity in this case.

The applicant was notified of the intent to discharge, and the applicant was advised of the right to an attorney. 
The applicant waived making a statement on their behalf and did not object to the discharge

Additionally, the Board noticed that the applicant was issued a General Discharge in Block 24 of the DD-214 
for character of service. This error was due to the Direct Access 9.1 upgrade effective Jan 2015. The Boards 
recommends that this is administratively corrected to Under Honorable Conditions. The General discharge is 
correct, but is not a valid character of service entry for Block 24.

Propriety:	Discharge was proper.
Equity:	Discharge was equitable.
Final Adjudication By Assistant Commandant for Human Resources: Concur with Board. The 
Applicant's Character of Service has recently been amended via admin correction to Under Honorable 
Conditions based on ALCOAST 562/08. Aside from this completed change, no relief.
