EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Applicant was discharged in September 2016 for Adjustment Disorder.

After receiving a medical diagnosis for Adjustment Disorder, the Applicant was notified of the intent to 
discharge by the command. The Applicant made a statement on his behalf and did object to the discharge.

The Board noted that the applicant submitted documentation showing that the Applicant filed a formal 
complaint alleging harassment and discrimination while they were assigned to CGC ESCANABA.

The Board finds no issues with propriety or equity in this case.

An RE3 reentry code is not an affirmative recommendation for reenlistment, rather it represents that the 
applicant is not recommended for reenlistment due to a disqualifying factor. The RE3 code may be waived 
based upon the policies and needs of the gaining Service.
