EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Applicant was discharged from the U. S. Coast Guard by reason of Misconduct due to wrongful possession 
and use of a controlled substance. During the investigation, he admitted to using Methylenedioxy- 
N_Methamphetamine (MDMA) during the month of October 2012.

The Board finds no issues with propriety or equity in this case.

The Applicant was notified of the intent to discharge, and was advised of his right to an attorney. The Applicant 
did not object to the discharge.

Coast Guard policy prescribes no higher than a General, Under Honorable Conditions character of service for 
individuals separated as a result of violating the Coast Guard’s drug policy. The Coast Guard has zero 
tolerance for drug abuse. The General, Under Honorable Conditions discharge is equitable.
