1. Pursuant to the provisions ofreference (a) Subject, hereinafter referred to as Petitioner, filed 
enclosure (!) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be corrected 
to establish entitlement to a Selective Reserve (SELRES) Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB). 

2. The Board, consisting of ; reviewed Petitioner's 
allegations of error and injustice on 14 April 2017 and, pursuant to its regulations, determined 
that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available evidence of record. 
Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the enclosures, naval records, and 
applicable statutes, regulations and policies. 

3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts ofrecord pertaining to Petitioner's allegations of 
error and injustice, finds as follows: 

a. Before applying to this Board, Petitioner exhausted all administrative
 remedies available 

under existing law and regulations within the Department ofthe Navy. 
b. In correspondence attached as enclosure (2), the office having cognizance over the subject 
matter addressed in Petitioner's application has commented to the effect that the request has 
merit and warrants favorable action. 

CONCLUSION 

Upon review and consideration ofall the evidence ofrecord, and especially in light of the 
contents of enclosure (2), the Board finds the existence ofan injustice warranting the following 
corrective action. 

RECOMMENDATION: 

That Petitioner's naval record be corrected, where appropriate, to show that: 

a. The immediate reenlistment contract (NA VPERS I 070/60 I), executed on or about 
14 November 2015 is for a term of2 years, vice 6 years. 

b. The Petitioner was discharged on 5 February 2016 and reenlisted on 6 February 2016. The 
term is 6 years. 

c. This change will entitle the member to a Tier 3 Selected Reserve Selective Reenlistment 
Bonus (for the contact rate) with an award payment of$7,500 for a 6 year Reenlistment. Note: 
COMNA VRESFOR (NI C2)) at repayment processing. 

d. A copy ofthis Report ofProceedings will be filed in Petitioner's naval record. 

4. It is certified that quorum was present atthe Board's review and deliberations, and that the 
foregoing is a true and complete record ofthe · e above entitled matter. 

5. Pursuant to the delegation of authority set out m e) ofthe revised Procedures ofthe 
Board for Correction ofNaval Records (32 Code ofFederal Regulations, Section 723.6(e)) and 
having assured compliance with its provisions, it is hereby announced that the foregoing 
corrective action, taken under the authority ofreference (a), has been approved by the Board on 
behalf ofthe Secretary ofthe Navy.
