Pursuant to the provisions ofreference (a) Subject, hereinafter referred to as Petitioner, filed enclosure (I) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be corrected to establish entitlement to a zone "A" Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB). 2. The Board, consisting of reviewed Petitioner's allegations oferror and injustice on 26 April 2019 and, pursuant to its regulations, determined that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available evidence of record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted ofthe enclosures, relevant portions of Petitions naval records, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies. 3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining to Petitioner's allegations of error and injustice, finds as follows: a. Before applying to this Board, Petitioner exhausted all administrative remedies available under existing law and regulations within the Department of the Navy. b. In correspondence attached as enclosure (2), the office having cognizance over the subject matter addressed in Petitioner's application has commented to the effect that lbe request has merit and warrants favorable action. CONCLUSION Upon review and consideration ofall the evidence ofrecord, and especially in light ofthe contents ofenclosure (2), the Board finds the existence ofan injustice warranting the following corrective action. Navy Personnel Command (NPC) released the SRB Approval message DTG 230 l 03ZJAN18. Per the SRB approval message Petitioner was required to reenlist on 24 January 2018 for a term of 5 years in order to receive the SRB. Petitioner reenlisted on 24 January 2018, however, the date was erroneously recorded as 24 January 2017 on his reenlistment contract, which consequently caused him to lose his SRB. Navy Personnel Command (NPC) released the SRB Cancellation message DTG 140 l 12ZFEB 18, because Petitioner's 5-year reenlistment was not within the parameters of the approved SRB message. RECOMMENDATION That Petitioner' s naval record be corrected, where appropriate, to show that: The Petitioner was discharged and reenlisted on 23/24 January 2018, vice 23/24 January 2017. The term is 5 years. This change will entitle the Petitioner to a Tier 1, Zone "A" SRB with an award level of 3.0 (60,000 dollar award ceiling) for the FCA/0000 rate/NEC. Remaining obligated service to 20 March 2018 will be deducted from SRB computation. A copy of this Report of Proceedings will be filed in Petitioner's naval record. 4. It is certified that quorum was present at the Board's review and deliberations, and that the foregoing is a true and complete record ofthe Board's proceedings in the above entitled matter. 5. Pursuant to the delegation ofauthority set out in Section 6(e) of the revised Procedures of the Board for Correction of Naval Records (32 Code of Federal Regulations, Section 723.6(e)) and having assured compliance with its provisions, it is hereby announced that the foregoing corrective action, taken under the authority ofreference (a), has been approved by the Board on behalf of the Secretary ofthe Navy.
