Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a) Subject, hereinafter referred to as Petitioner, filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be corrected to show Petitioner’s Electronic Service Record (ESR) reflect current enlistment date of 26 June 2018, and receive a Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB). 2. The Board, consisting of reviewed Petitioner’s allegations of error and injustice on 14 July 2020 and, pursuant to its regulations, determined that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available evidence of record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the enclosures, relevant portions of Petitioner’s naval record, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies. 3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining to Petitioner’s allegations of error and injustice, finds as follows: a. Before applying to this Board, Petitioner exhausted all administrative remedies available under existing law and regulations within the Department of the Navy. b. On 27 August 2013, Petitioner entered active duty. c. On 14 May 2018, NAVADMIN 119/18 (Selective Reenlistment Bonus update May 2018) was published and listed a zone “A” with an award level of 1.5 (30,000 dollar award ceiling) for the ABE rate. d. On 12 June 2018, COMNAVPERSCOM message approved Petitioner’s SRB with a reenlistment effective date of 26 June 2018. e. On 26 June 2018, Petitioner reenlisted for 5 years. Petitioner’s End of Active Obligated Service (EAOS) was 26 August 2018. f. On 13 July 2020, Petitioner’s official /ESR was printed listing a current enlistment date of 26 May 2018. g. In correspondence attached as enclosure (2), the office having cognizance over the subject matter addressed in Petitioner’s application has commented to the effect that the request has merit and warrants favorable action. CONCLUSION Upon review and consideration of all the evidence of record, and especially in light of the contents of enclosure (2), the Board finds the existence of an injustice warranting the following corrective action. The Board concluded that there was no error in Petitioner’s record. Furthermore, due to an administrative error Petitioner’s ESR lists an erroneous current enlistment date, preventing SRB payment to Petitioner. RECOMMENDATION That Petitioner’s naval record be corrected, where appropriate, to show that: Petitioner’s ESR was updated with current enlistment date of 26 June 2018 vice 26 May 2018. Note: This change will entitle the member to a zone “A” SRB with an award level of 1.5 ($30,000 dollar award ceiling) for the ABE rate. Remaining obligated service to 26 August 2018 will be deducted from SRB computation. A copy of this Report of Proceedings will be filed in Petitioner’s naval record. 4.
